How Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Enrollment Works
Enrollment in SSFUSD's Transitional Kindergarten program is determined through a lottery process. Families who submit a completed application on InformedK12 during the application window are entered into the lottery, and school placements are assigned based on the results. We know that navigating school enrollment can feel overwhelming, and we are here to help every step of the way!
Is My Child Eligible?
To be eligible for the 2025-26 TK lottery, your child must have a birthdate between September 2, 2020 and September 1, 2021.
Application Window & Lottery Timeline
TK applications can be found on InformedK12. Applications submitted between January 21 and February 28, 2025 will be entered into the lottery, which takes place in early March 2025. Applications received on March 1 or later will not be entered into the lottery, but will be considered for placement after the lottery in the order they are received, based on space availability.
Lottery Update — March 17, 2025
All lottery participants should have received their results by email through Informed K12. Please refer to page 2 of your application for your school assignment. If you are on the waitlist, offers of placement will be made by phone as spaces become available.
Next Steps After Placement
If your child receives a school placement, please complete registration within 15 school days of receiving your assignment. To register, gather your required documents and submit them to your assigned school along with a completed registration packet.
Please note that schools are closed for Spring Break from March 31 – April 4, 2025.
Don't have a PG&E bill in your name? You can verify your address by completing a residency affidavit (available in English and Spanish) at the district office beginning in March 2025. Once your affidavit has been approved, bring the approved copy to your assigned school office.
